A native Memphian, Chef Jason owes his love for fresh garden flavors and great southern cooking to his Mother. She would take him to spend summers on his grandparents farm in Lauderdale County, where he was exposed to some of the best regional cooking and fresh produce the rich delta soil had to offer. In this environment, Chef Jason found his love for food, flavors and culinary artistry. He would later be trained in the classical french method of cooking at La Maison and graduate in 1993. Chef Jason began his career in Memphis, working in many great restaurants such as Automatic Slims Tonga Club and Cafe Society but soon ventured out to Dallas,TX, Denver, CO and Durham, NC. In 2005, Chef Jason opened his first restaurant, Cinema 218, in Texas to rave reviews. The restaurant was a fusion of his two loves, the cinema and the kitchen, and was a great success. Now back home in Memphis, Chef Jason wanted to use his experience, passion and creativity to bring a new twist on an old idea and opened Crave Gourmet Hand-Crafted Culinary Treats.

Crave Gourmet is trying to further the efforts of the “Break the Chain. Eat Local.” movement started by local Memphis culinary treasure – Muddy’s Bake Shop. Starting immediately, Crave Gourmet will be holding the “Hand-Crafted Name” Contest, offering foodies the opportunity to get creative and help name one of their “Hand-Crafted Culinary Treats.” Each months [...]
