Dr. Douglas Scarboro is the Director of Community Engagement at The Leadership Academy (www.leadershipacademy.org), where he provides innovative opportunities for alumni to engage with one another and develops programming and events in partnership with The Leadership Academy alumni and community partners. Douglas has a B.A. in political science from Morehouse College, an M.B.A. from Campbell University and Ed. D. in Higher and Adult Education from the University of Memphis. In an effort to create the Memphis that he wants to see Douglas served as a founder of LaunchMemphis (www.launchmemphis.org), a dynamic organization that is developing an entrepreneurial community consisting of investors, entrepreneurs, and local organizations through innovative professional, social and educational experiences in Memphis, TN. Also in an effort to further the efforts of entrepreneurialism in Memphis, Douglas is a board member of Emerge Memphis(www.emergememphis.org), a general business and technology-based incubator that works to enhance the viability of high growth entrepreneurship by providing infrastructure, services, and relationships to both create wealth and expand the mid-south economy. In his spare time, Douglas is an adjunct professor at Christian Brothers University teaching organizational behavior in the Master of Arts in Executive Leadership Program and business strategy in Master of Business Administration Program. Douglas is married to Dr. T. Nichole Saulsberry-Scarboro and has a son named Douglas Saulsberry Scarboro.
