Mid-Southerners looking to serve the community in February are encouraged by Lifeblood to give blood and support local nonprofits in the process.
Blood and blood platelet donors who give during the month will receive a free T-shirt, attached, with the option to return the gift in favor of having a donation made in their honor to their choice of one of four local nonprofit agencies whose beneficiaries depend on a stable blood supply: Mid-South Transplant Foundation, Sickle Cell Foundation, American Cancer Society (Mid-South Chapter), or Lifeblood.
“We wanted to provide an opportunity for community members to donate in multiple ways,” said Jennifer Balink, vice president of donor relations at Lifeblood. “By giving this month, their donation can directly benefit organizations that serve the Mid-South and also ensure that in times of emergency, a healthy blood supply is always available.”
To schedule a donation appointment, or for donor center locations, call 1-888-LIFEBLOOD or visit lifeblood.org.
MemphisConnect is a partnership between The Leadership Academy, MemphisED and Simple Focus. We provide a gathering place for diverse Memphians to share the opportunities, initiatives and activities that inspire them to make Memphis home.
MemphisConnect is always looking for people who are passionate about Memphis and want to help move our community forward. Get in touch if you have a story for us to share, of if you want to write for us!
