I have always lived in Memphis and have always been used to the loud sound of trains roaring by at all times of the day.  It wasn’t until recently that I noticed how useful trains in Memphis are and how much of a role they play in transportation, from moving goods along from city to city as well as moving people along to destinations all over the United States.

A few months back, I wanted to go visit my husband on a business trip in New Orleans.  I hate driving for long periods, so I decided to check into other means of transportation.  That’s when I found Amtrak.  The Amtrak train was a great decision in that it allowed me to sit back and enjoy a peaceful ride.  The price of the train ticket was inexpensive and equaled less than what I would have spent on gas money to get there.

The train ride was very accommodating.  The chairs were huge and so comfortable. If you go on an overnight trip, they do have rooms with beds to sleep in.  They also have a section of the train where you can buy breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The train has booths you can sit at and enjoy your meals while looking out the window. Overall I really enjoyed the train ride and always recommend it to people who want a cheaper way of traveling.  You can pretty much go anywhere. For more information, visit
