What a great reminder that top notch family activities abound in the greater Memphis community! A little info about Ashlee, her passion for all things equine and a cool opportunity for both kids and adults:
Ashlee Pigford is leading a Horsemanship Day Camp for children 6 years and up at Kimberlin Farms in Olive Branch, MS on July 23-25th from 9am to 2pm. She is also accepting beginner horseback riding lesson students, both kids and adults.

3 Days of Horsey Fun!
July 23-25 (Friday to Sunday)
9am to 2pm
Open to kids 6yrs and up
Ashlee grew up locally riding hunter/jumpers, but now also enjoys a variety of disciplines including: centered riding, dressage, western, and even carriage driving! Her diverse riding program offers affordable private horseback riding lessons to kids 6+ and adults (English and Western) and focuses on pleasure riding with an emphasis in safety, overall horsemanship, and FUN!
Ashlee’s specialty is starting out beginner riders and preparing them for affordable horse ownership in a non-competitive atmosphere. Her training philosophy is: Focus on what you’ve got and work with it! This applies to both horses & life! She teaches her students to appreciate horses as more than a means to an end. Horse ownership does not necessarily equal horse showing! Although showing provides great learning opportunities, her program provides an affordable alternative and option for individuals and families wanting to learn about horses outside of the competitive show circuit in a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
Ashlee is also the Founder, Administrator, and Writer for Memphis Horses celebrating horses and promoting affordable and responsible horse ownership, and equine advocacy practices in Memphis, TN and beyond! She can be contacted at (901) 210-5920 or visit http://KimberlinFarms.com for details. She was interviewed this week on the Fox 13 Memphis Early show by Earle Farrell and Kristin Tallent about her camp. Click here to watch her interview discussing horses with Earle Farrell.
