Join Rebuild Government for morning coffee with Richard Mullaney, general counsel for Jacksonville, and hear him explain how his city’s metro government provides important competitive advantages in the global economic marketplace, while creating greater government efficiency and teamwork. As a former mayoral chief of staff and the Jacksonville’s leading legal counselor since 1997, Mr. Mullaney makes a compelling case for how metro government delivers stronger services with more efficient uses of taxpayer dollars.
Mr. Mullaney has described how a city and county driven by polarizing politics, rife with corruption and struggling economically – described as “a backwards town with an inferiority complex” — was transformed by the formation of a new government focused on responding to modern challenges and opportunities.
Seating is limited! Please RSVP to paigewalkup@gmail.com by Wednesday February 3rd if you would like to attend this presentation. If you have any questions or would like further information please contact us at 901.347.8623.
“Here in Jacksonville we are fortunate to have a structure in which we can debate vigorously internally, loudly, as much as we want. But hopefully with this structure, we can speak with one voice to Tallahassee, we can speak with one voice to Washington, D.C., and we can speak with one voice to a prospect for economic development. And a piece of that is, we don’t create silos in which we sue each other, we don’t create silos of autonomy in which we work at cross-purposes.”
- Richard A. Mullaney, General Counsel for the City of Jacksonville
