Hey Friends,

I hope everyone had a spectacular holiday and is ready to kick-off 2010!

Here are few things MPACT Memphis has going in the first month of the new year:

Monday, Jan. 4: MPACT 101 at TJ Mulligan’s in the Pinch (362 N.Main) at 6:00 p.m.

An introductory meet-up for potential, new and current members. This one-hour reception offers new and prospective members general information about MPACT and a guide to getting involved with the organization. It also gives the current members a chance to network, connect with and welcome our new members. For more information or to RSVP contact Marcus Washington.

Tuesday, Jan. 5: Community Service Committee Meeting at Cafe Eclectic (603 N. McLean) at 6:00 p.m.

Join us as we plan out MPACT’s community service projects for the year. What types of projects would you like to participate in? How can we better serve the community? Have an idea for an event project? Bring it along! For more information or to RSVP contact Kurt Schoeffler.

Sunday, Jan. 10: Member Connections Committee Meeting at Otherlands (641 S. Cooper) at 4:00 p.m.

Join us for an informal meeting to help plan the membership activities for the year. Don’t be shy! We love hearing from new members and doing different and interesting events. For more information or to RSVP contact Stephanie Bennett.

Thursday, Jan. 14: Restaurant Tour at A-Tan (3445 Poplar Ave., Suite 17) at 7:00 p.m.

Join us for some great Memphis cuisine. MPACT’s dinner tour supports locally-owned, distinctly different restaurants around Memphis. This month we’re stopping at A-Tan to sample their decedent cuisine. For more information or to RSVP contact Sam Erkulwater.

Monday, Jan. 18: MPACT 101 at Dan McGuinness (4698 Spotswood) at 6:00 p.m.

An introductory meet-up for potential, new and current members. This one-hour reception offers new and prospective members general information about MPACT and a guide to getting involved with the organization. It also gives the current members a chance to network, connect with and welcome our new members. For more information or to RSVP contact Gerald Emerson.

Tuesday, Jan. 26: Healthy Memphis Outlet at Pearl’s Oyster House (299 S. Main) at 6:00 p.m.

Start 2010 off right with MPACT Memphis and our Healthy Memphis outlet. This is your opportunity to get plugged-in with the movers and shakers in the city and discover more about leading a healthy lifestyle. YMCA, Church Health Center and the Farmer’s Market will be on hand to discuss how their programs can benefit you and our community. This is also a great time to sign up for MPACTive, an active lifestyle group for MPACT Memphis members. For more information or to RSVP please contact our Member Connections Committee.

It’s obviously a pretty busy month for us which = plenty of opportunities for you! Hope to see you at one, two or ALL of the events.

PS-Good luck with your resolutions…I’ve already slipped up and it’s just the 4th.  What can I say, I’m a winner.
