Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. (NCC) needs 2500 toys for its annual Christmas Toy Store Give-A-Way. “Each year, there are children who are not paired with other families or given toys by any agency”, states Ephie Ballard-Johnson, NCC’s President and CEO. While NCC staff and volunteers work hard each year to make sure that no child is without at least one toy for Christmas, the economy has made this year particularly difficult. Unfortunately, NCC only has a few toys at this time.
The Toy Store is part of the Annual Christmas Baskets and Services provided by the Neighborhood Christian Centers each year since 1989. Although the challenges are greater this year, NCC is depending on the Memphis community to help each child have the gift of at least one toy this Christmas season.
Toys may be brought to the Neighborhood Christian Center’s main office at 785 Jackson Avenue, Wednesday, December 16, 2009 through Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Also on this Saturday from 8 am – 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 am – 1 p.m. Staff is also available to pick up the toys, if necessary. For more information about the Neighborhood Christian Centers, visit www.ncclife.org .
There are also still families available to be adopted for Christmas. Please call Pamela Cox at 881-6013 for more information.
