There are as many versions of Memphis as there are Memphians. We have something for everyone… and a soul like no other city’s.
Take a look through MemphisConnect and you’ll understand why the 100+ diverse voices represented are all inspired to call Memphis home.
December 2, 2009 MemphisConnect

Every December, Volunteer Mid-South holds its annual fundraiser and community service project, providing gifts of books, toys and school supplies to thousands of Memphis City elementary school students. Each year, schools are selected by MCS to ensure that our gifts reach the students with the most need. The most important goal of Share the Spirit of Giving is to teach children that the Spirit of Giving is alive and well in our community.

The Event
Volunteer Mid-South celebrates Share the Spirit of Giving with volunteers visiting thousands of children in schools throughout the Memphis area. Children arrive on this magical morning to find gold tinsel sprinkled in the hallways, and on each desk is a special gift for the boys and girls and a special classroom “teacher” box for each classroom.

MemphisConnect is a partnership between The Leadership Academy, MemphisED and Simple Focus. We provide a gathering place for diverse Memphians to share the opportunities, initiatives and activities that inspire them to make Memphis home.
MemphisConnect is always looking for people who are passionate about Memphis and want to help move our community forward. Get in touch if you have a story for us to share, of if you want to write for us!
