Bravo On The Yellow Brick Road
-
If you are into flying monkeys, cackling witches and silly scarecrows, you don’t have to wait for Halloween to come back around next year. This weekend Ballet Memphis presents The Wizard of Oz and on Friday night, Bravo members will have the chance to catch a private dress rehearsal performance and see the dancers in action before the big weekend.
Bravo, the ArtsMemphis membership option for the young and hip arts patrons in town, has already had a remarkable season and we are only 3 events in! Bravo members have danced on Huling Row, rocked the Levitt Shell, rubbed shoulders with Craig Brewer and now they will get to have a VIP experience at The Orpheum on Friday night (tomorrow).
ArtsMemphis TV features Travis Bradley this week, a remarkably talented Ballet Memphis company member who loves his craft, raves about the Memphis arts community and is just amazing to watch. Whether portraying Romeo in Romeo or Juliet or Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Travis’ impeccable talent and fluid movement always leave me speechless. He is also just a lot of fun to hang out with!
If you are over 21, come to The Orpheum Theatre on Friday night, November 6 to enjoy a reception at 6:30 in the Broadway Room with food catered by Sole Restaurant and Raw Bar, a dress rehearsal performance of The Wizard of Oz at 7:30 and one magical evening. This event is free for Bravo members and just $20 for single tickets. That includes your food, drinks and the rehearsal performance. For more information, visit www.artsmemphis.org/bravo.
Tickets for The Wizard of Oz are on sale for Saturday and Sunday through Ballet Memphis’ website and box office. You will not want to miss it!!
