On Thursday, Sept. 24 MULYP Presents, “An Introduction to Party Politics”, a panel discussion. Panelists include Shelby County Democratic Party Chairman Van Turner, Shelby County Republican Party Chair Lang Wiseman, Lakisha Watson-Moore of the Young Democrats of America, and Evann Freeman of Senator Lamar Alexander’s office. The panelists will answer your question about the political parties, and what they mean to you and to the political process. Are Democrats really the default party for African-Americans? Do Republicans only care about rich people? Hear responses to these myths and more, Thursday the 24th, 6pm at the Crescent Club (6075 Poplar Avenue).
