Well, the secret is out…ArtsMemphis is launching an iPhone app next week that is truly unprecedented! As functional as it is fun, iPhone and iPod touch users alike will be able to download the app for free next week when we have a free launch party at the Memphis College of Art on Thursday, September 24 from 5 – 6:30. Bring your devices and celebrate with us – then head over the Levitt Shell for their free performance!

Part of our ever espanding Audience Development Initiative, funded by The Assisi Foundation, the app brings broader and richer arts experiences to local audiences. The app is sponsored by innovative partner iBERIABANK, FSB and the launch party is sponsored by our ever-ready-experts at Master IT.

We have been tight-lipped about the app for some time now, which is not an easy task for an office of 10 women! We wanted to make sure we had it just right and, thanks to developers Resolute Games, we do. The ArtsMemphis app allows you to search our comprehensive, interactive arts calendar on the go, Google map your destination, call or email for tix, watch ArtsMemphis TV, post and read reviews, share events via Twitter and Facebook, and much more.

I haven’t found a comperable app – for the arts or anything else! I have been toying with the ArtsMemphis app in the testing phase and can’t wait to be able to download it from the Apple app store. Memphians and visitors from around the world will now be able to connect with the arts with the touch of their finger.

Sitting at dinner or happy hour and looking for tickets to the theater? Ballet? Opera? Symphony? Perhaps a museum exhibit? Well, now there is an app for that. And a vibrant, fun, colorful one at that, too! Be on the lookout next week and have your devices ready…we are bringing the arts to you!

    Nancy,

Thank you for the kind words regarding the Arts Memphis app. We’d be glad to work with you on an app for your Arts Council and develop that mobile platform which will you give you the fundraising/information disseminating edge!
