Don’t miss the Cooper Young Festival on September 19th! The festival is in its 22nd year and is now one of Memphis’ most attended festivals. Visitors will be able to browse a mix of art, music, and crafts from 370 artisans visiting from around the country. Check out Pat’s Picks for the musical guests appearing in the festival, and click here for a list of featured artists.
The festival expects to gather numbers up to 85,000. The music starts at 11:30 AM and the last show starts at 5:15 PM. We’ll see you there!
Also, Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region and Friends For Life will offer free and confidential HIV testing and counseling during the Cooper Young Festival. Planned Parenthood representatives will conduct the testing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Friends For Life Corp. will conduct testing from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Both agencies will provide OraQuick testing that is administered with a simple mouth swab (no needles!), and results are available in about 30 minutes. The testing will be in the First Congregational Church.

MemphisConnect is a partnership between The Leadership Academy, MemphisED and Simple Focus. We provide a gathering place for diverse Memphians to share the opportunities, initiatives and activities that inspire them to make Memphis home.
MemphisConnect is always looking for people who are passionate about Memphis and want to help move our community forward. Get in touch if you have a story for us to share, of if you want to write for us!
