That’s right, the alley parties are back! Delighted to report that Goner Records, REG, Makeshift Music, NeoSoulville, and Shangri-La Projects are throwing really, REALLY great concerts in alleys throughout Downtown. Live music without a cover. Most shows are after work on Wednesdays with vending at 4:30 and live music starting at 6 pm. Here’s the sched:
Sept 16: Court Square Karaoke Cocktail Party (we’re calling this the sound check!) Sign up to compete for $500 at alleyjams.com.
Sept 23: Neosoulville Alley Party at Gayoso Alley, featuring City Champs, Tonya Dyson, Tim Terry, Cassie Bonner and Candace Ashir.
Sept 30: REG Alley Party at Rendezvous Alley, featuring The Dempseys and Soul Shockers.
Oct 7: Makeshift Music Alley Party at Gayoso Alley, featuring Two-Way Radio, Paul Taylor and Pezz.
Oct 14: Goner Records Alley Party, featuring Harlan T. Bobo, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, and The Limes.
(Fri) Oct 30: Memphis Pops! Show in the lot next to E&H, featuring alt-pop icon Mitch Easter, the return of The Simple Ones and The New Mary Jane!
