The 35th Annual WLOK Stone Soul Picnic is this weekend and WLOK has put together an exciting weekend of activties for the city to enjoy. This morning Yolanda Adams Morning Show broadcast live from the Civil Rights Museum over WLOK. The event was followed by a Backstage Pass with Yolanda Admas produced by the Memphis music Fioundation. Adams shared her secrets to success and lessoons learned over her career. The packed house included local gospel and Christian songwriters, and church leaders.
The WLOK Comedy Show will take place tonight at 7:30pm at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Good, clean humor can be expected along with side-spliiting laughs.
The Stone Soul Picnic will be held in historic Tom Lee Park on Saturday, September 5th at 1:00pm. WLOK Stone Soul Picnic will feature national acts Elder Jimmy Hicks, James Fortune, Earnest Pugh and the Brown Boyz. Also performing will be local gospel acts Perfection, the Baptist Ministerial Male Chorus, Echoaires and the Brown Singers.
