Hey. I wanted to tell y’all about a great community greening event coming up on Sept. 12: Wolf River Day: It’s Cool to Go Green. The event will take place at the Corner of Tutwiler and Avalon in Midtown from 10:00AM-5:00PM and will feature the Forest Faire, Vendors, Arts & Crafts, Going Green Exhibits, Plants & Nature Exhibits, a Kids Bike Parade, Wildlife Displays, Food, Music and More.
A bit of background–a team of 8 Leadership Academy Fellows and myself partnered with the Wolf River Conservancy to give them the Capacity to make this happen. It’s been a really tremendous experience working with the Conservancy to help them deliver on their mission in a big way. The Wolf River is a community treasure that runs through so many of our neighborhoods. We need to be excited about the Wolf River, and Wolf River Day: It’s Cool to Go Green will accomplish just that. Stay tuned for coverage on the radio and on WMC-TV.
