As summer arrives and school has come to an end, it’s time to think about summer camp. In Memphis there is no shortage of fun opportunities for kids of all ages. For art lovers, Memphis College of Art hosts a summer Children’s Art Camp for ages five to 16. If your child is an animal lover, think about sending them to camp at the Memphis Zoo, where they can participate in games, crafts, tours and live animal visits. For those interested in nature, the Memphis Botanic Gardens offers a series of summer camps for children ages 4 through 13.
If your child is interested in performing, consider the Out Loud Artistry Performing Arts Summer Camp, or the Delta Girls Rock Camp, a week long camp that gives girls the chance to experience what it is like to be in a real band. Finally, for those children who are more athletic than artistic, consider the Anytime Summertime Camp at the Little Gym, or the Grizzlie’s Summer Hoops Basketball Camp.
Live in the suburbs and prefer something closer to home? Consider the Bartlett Hills Summer Recreation Camp, the Germantown Performing Arts Center’s Fairy Ballet Camp, or La Petite Academy’s Challenge Island Summer Camp in Collierville.
Whatever your choice, the summer promises to be unforgettable- and uniquely Memphis!
