It’s not hard to find something to love about the Memphis Zoo, which is why it earned the #1 spot on Trip Advisor’s 2008 list of America’s top zoos, and in the 2008 Cultural Attraction Benchmark Report, conducted by Morey Group. We just purchased a family membership – a huge bargain at only $79 – and we plan to start using it next week during spring break! Unfortunately our daughters aren’t the right ages for Spring Break Camp, but we can still check out cool activities like polar bear feedings, penguin rock, and zookeeper chats.
Oh! The zoo loves to receive photos of guests and supporters. Send a high resolution image of your next visit to zooinfo@memphiszoo.org and you might see yourselves on the zoo’s newsletter or website!

MemphisConnect is a partnership between The Leadership Academy, MemphisED and Simple Focus. We provide a gathering place for diverse Memphians to share the opportunities, initiatives and activities that inspire them to make Memphis home.
MemphisConnect is always looking for people who are passionate about Memphis and want to help move our community forward. Get in touch if you have a story for us to share, of if you want to write for us!
What a huge asset to our community. My four year old can sit and watch the polar bears swim for an entire five minutes…if you know my son, that is an eternity of concentration.
If you can sneak away one afternoon, walk through the Cat Country around 5:00. As a lot of them are nocturnal, many the big cats will just be waking up and getting active. Early afternoon is definitely the best time to see them.
