Last night my choir was working on Bach’s “Nun danket alle Gott,” and I noticed the bass next to me wasn’t struggling at all with the German text. “Where did you learn your German?” I had to ask. “I’m a native.” It turns out he’s from Berlin but works here now. I had no idea! I thoght, How cool to be a part of an international choir right here in Memphis!
